How Tickled We Were, 2018
In March 2018 we lost arguably the greatest stand up comedian of them all – Ken Dodd.
fast forward to December the same year we had perhaps the greatest tribute in the touching documentary: How Tickled We Were.
Summary
In Sir Ken’s own words and with testimony from friends, family and colleagues who knew him best, this revealing documentary film tells the story of his incredible life and long career which included a record-breaking run at The London Palladium in the 1960s, numerous television series and specials, countless summer seasons and variety shows, a string of hit records and a touring one-man show that continued right into his ninetieth year.
Tributes come from Roy Hudd, Jimmy Tarbuck, Claire Sweeney and many more. Sir Ken’s widow Lady Anne Dodd takes us through the highs and the lows (tax evasion case) of the comics life giving us a rare account of life behind the scenes of his famous shows.
