Well it is Burn’s Night!

Rab C. Nesbitt was a Scottish based sitcom about an alcoholic Glaswegian who perceives his alcoholic and unemployed status  as a lifestyle choice.

The character originally appeared in another BBC sketch series Naked Video.   He first appeared in his own right in a Christmas special entitled: Rab C Nesbitt’s Seasonal Greet, broadcast December 1988 and then repeated the following year.

It would be two more years (1990) before Rab C. Nesbitt became a full series.  Running for eight series in what would become it’s first run it ended in 1999.

Rab returned once again in December 2008 for a one off special leading to two more series between 2010 and 2012.

In January 2014 Rab C. Nesbitt returned for (to date) a final outing.

Summary

Meet Rab C. Nesbitt rude, dirty, lazy, foul-mouthed, sexist, violent and alcoholic.

Rab spends his time drinking in his local and speaking to the camera about the state of society as he sees it.
