The Comedians Christmas Cracker

The Comedians Christmas Cracker, 1993

In the early 1970’s producer Johnnie Hamp hit upon a simple idea that would turn into a hugely successful TV series that ran from 1971 until 1985.  It returned with a new line up for a twelfth series in 1992 billed as ‘The New Comedians’

Sadly many of the original stars are no longer with us.  Turn the clock back to Christmas, 1993 and many of the stars re-unite for a one off special ‘The Comedians Christmas Cracker’  It would be the last time the show appeared on TV.

Whilst Christmas Cracker was the last time these comics appeared together on TV, in 2001 the surviving members of the original cast, alongside legendary TV producer Johnnie Hamp, took to the stage at the Blackpool Grand Theatre to celebrate 40 years since the original TV series began.

Summary
