The Good Life – 1977 Christmas Special

It’s Silly, But It’s Fun – The Good Life Christmas Special – 1977

It’s amazing to think how much hindsight television writers during the 1970’s had.  In 1977 most people would buy their presents in the traditional way – in the shops.

In this classic episode of The Good Life Margo is having Christmas delivered in much the same way as people today do, only back then there was no internet, no tablets or smart phones.  What would the Goods make of today’s society?

Summary

It’s Christmas Eve, and at the Goods’ house, Tom and Barbara are making decorations and crackers ready for Christmas Day, while at the Leadbetters, Margo has sent back her whole order because her Christmas Tree is six and a quarter inches too short.

However when the company does not deliver her order the following day, she and Jerry are left with no decorations, food or drink, so Tom and Barbara invite them round for a home made Christmas.
