Come Outside

Come Outside, 1993

Come Outside was a BBC educational kids TV series.

Running for 40 episodes over 3 series it became one of the BBC’s most successful and watched Kids TV shows of all time and as such found itself repeated regularly on digital pre-school channel CBeebies until 2012.

Summary

The series aimed to encourage young children to learn about the world around them.

Each programme would begin with something that children may already be familiar, such as: wood, paper, boots, spiders, buses, soap and lampposts.

The two main characters are Auntie Mabel and her dog Pippin.

A popular feature of Come Outside was Auntie Mabel’s unusual mode of transport: a small aeroplane (a Slingsby T67 Firefly, for those into details) with multi-coloured polka dots.
