Rik Mayall’s manager has confirmed that Rik Mayall has died at the age of 56. At this stage no details of the reason for his death have been released but he was left in a coma back in 1998 after a quad bike accident.
Mayall was one of the most recognised and popular comedy performers of the 80’s and 90’s thanks to classic shows such as The Young Ones, Bottom and The New Statesman.
We will run some posts over the coming weeks to remind us of the great man but in the meantime we’ve posted a few reminders of what made him so great below and our best wishes are with his family at this time.
