Dad’s Army, The Lost Episodes, 2019
Dad’s Army remains one of the most popular British sitcoms of all time. Like many shows from around it’s time not all episodes are complete in the BBC archives. Three episodes and two Christmas sketches are missing.
In 2018, UKTV took the brave decision to re-create the missing three episodes with a new cast. The project was a huge success. Re-creating the original sets and with an all new cast following the original scripts. As the radio versions of the original episodes still existed the cast were able to re-create the characters with incredible accuracy.
August 2019 and the three missing episodes were broadcast to coincide with the 50th anniversary of their first broadcast.
