Girls On Top, 1985
All star cast, all star writing team, not to be confused with The Brighton Belles (another story for another time). Whilst the show was not a critical success it found favour where it counts – in the ratings. It’sa surprise therefore the show only lasted two series, thirteen episodes.
The show was seen as a female version of the popular BBC TV sitcom “The Young Ones”. Most cast members were members of “The Comic Strip Presents” group of comic actors.
The theme tune was written by Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford from Squeeze. It was performed by the cast for series one and Glenn Tilbrook for series two.
Summary
The series follows the escapades of four unlikely and often warring roommates and their meddlesome landlady, Lady Carlton.
