BBC sitcom filmed on a single camera. The Detectorists was created by MacKenzie Crook who also starred in the series.
First airing in 2014 the show ran for three series of six episodes each plus a Christmas Special in 2015.
The series ranked 19th in a 2019 Radio Times list of Britain’s favourite sitcoms. This poll was voted on by a team of comedy experts including: sitcom writers and actors. the Detectorists also picked up a BAFTA award in 2015 for Television Scripted Comedy.
Summary
The Detectorists is set in the fictional small town of Danebury in northern Essex.
It follows the lives, loves and detecting ambitions of two members of the Danebury Metal Detecting Club (DMDC).
