Clone Problems For Richard O’Sullivan

The Giftie, 1988

Screened in 1988 on Channel 4 it starred Richard O’Sullivan (Man About The House) and Joanna Van Gysegham (Duty Free).

Summary

When friends Paul and Frank decide to try a new machine at work (a 3D photocopier, a mere dream in the day!) things do not quite go the way they thought.

They return home to tell their wives about this incredible new invention that he and Frank have been testing. It was, ‘a walking, talking three-dimensional photocopier – and it’s brilliant.’  Describing the machine as a walk-in wardrobe which was supposed to spit out its copy at the other end after successful copying – Paul and Frank joke that if the contraption had worked, they thought it would have been funny if they made a copy of themselves to send home to the wives, while they spent a night on the town.  However they believe the experiment failed, especially as they had first tested it on the office cat, Tiddles.

However things are not quite as straight forward as the two friends believe, as events prevail  and a serious dose of mistaken identity ensues.
