So what now ? 2001
So What Now? Some people think of this as a natural successor to Some Mother’s Do ‘Ave ‘Em ?
Co-written by and starring Lee Evans, as himself, the show came in for it’s fair share of criticism. However looking back you have to ask yourself, did it really get a fair crack of the whip ?
Sadly So What Now ? only ever ran for 8 episodes in one series. It was possibly it’s close similarity to the Frank Spencer character that lead audiences and critics to claim it was dated, which surprises everyone here at British Classic Comedy as Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em remains one of our most popular posts.
If you’ve never seen it, it’s definitely worth a closer look, as looking back it’s still very funny.
Summary
After being thrown out by his wife Lee has no choice but to share a house with his slobbish friend, Stuart and their neurotic landlady: Heather.
Lee is highly accident prone and disaster seems to strike him no matter what his intentions are. He’s sort of employed as he writes mobile phone ringtones. He has a son Lucas to his wife.
Stuart is Lee’s slobbish and disorganised friend, who allows Lee to stay in his flat against his better judgement, a decision he soon regrets . Stuart sells double glazing for a living. He too was married to Wendy and they had children.
Heather is the neurotic landlady. A failed “IT” girl she’s also on the hunt for a man.
