Now one of the biggest players in TV comedy, GOLD is well known for it’s showing of many classic sitcoms, but that’s another story for another day.
What has made the channel one of the big guns in TV comedy is it’s recent commisioning of original material. For this post we concentrate on a simple idea that has caught on with the viewing public: The Interviews.
In June 2015, GOLD premieried a six part series simply titled The Interviews. A brilliantly simple idea that told the stories of six famous people in their own words by piecing together interviews from the TV archives. Each episode featured a different person from the world of entertainment and was supported by some brilliant narration.
The series proved to be so popular that a second series, featuring six new people, was commissioned for 2016.
