John Bishop’s Britain, 2010

Now a household name, here’s a man who started his career in stand up playing to audiences of 17 people – Mr John Bishop.

John Bishop had been around for a few years with guest appearances here and there and Edinburgh Festival shows, but in 2010 he made the leap to TV with his own BBC TV show: John Bishop’s Britain which ran for 12 episodes and 1 Christmas Special over two series.

The show was filmed in front of a live audience, where they were shown the interviews via video link as part of the filming.

The sketches were not shown to the audience at the time of filming but Bishop’s narration of the sketch was included in the filming.
