Singles, 1988

Singles started life as a TV pilot “Singles’ Night’ for ITV, produced by Thames Television in 1984.  In 1988 Yorkshire Television picked up the show and began broadcasting the first of 22 episodes that were shown over 3 series.

In the third series lead character, Malcolm was written out after Roger Rees who played him moved to the USA.  Simon Cadell joined the cast as new character Roger Duval.

Summary

The series follows the exploits of Malcolm (later Roger) and Clive and Pamela and Jackie, four patrons of a singles bar.
