Sitting Pretty, 1992

Sitting pretty is a BBC sitcom that aired for thirteen episodes over two series.

There was high hopes for the series with the writing talents of John Sullivan and his first sitcom since Just Good Friends to feature a female lead.  Sullivan had originally intended for a male lead, but changed to a female, we couldn’t find any particular reason.

Despite prime time BBC1 and a successful writer Sitting Pretty failed to catch on and was cancelled after just two series.  It has become probably best remembered for being  the writer’s first notable failure.

Annie Briggs is used to the finer things in life. However life is about to change.

When her millionaire husband dies suddenly Annie finds herself penniless and forced to move back in with her parents and sister on their farm.

After her life of luxury this comes as something of a shock.
