By 1979, still at the height of his popularity Dick Emery decided to move from the BBC to ITV.  It was a move that proved to be short-lived as he returned to the BBC in 1980.

Whilst at ITV Emery produced three one off specials: The Dick Emery Comedy Hour in 1979, The Dick Emery Special also in 1979 and The Dick Emery Hour in 1980 and it is these three specials that this post is all about.

‘Keep Fit’, ‘Vicar Wine Tasting’, ‘Loading a Cannon’, ‘Sleeping Beauty Act III’, ‘Attic Memories’, ‘Dick Emery’s Fun Book’, ‘Ada and Herbert’, ‘Bert Plans a Trip to Mars’, plus music from guests Brooks, and Lulu.

‘Kiss Me Hardy’, ‘Who’d Wanna be a Dancer’ dance number, ‘Hulk Goes for an Interview’, ‘The Man About the Rats’, ‘The Beast and the Snowflake Princess’ ballet, ‘Napoleon and Jospehine’, ‘Eastern Interlude’, ‘Percy and Frieda’, ‘Sir Leyland of Longbridge’, plus music from The Three Degrees, harpist Annabel, and Gemma Craven.
