Where’s Robin?

Maid Marian And Her Merry Men, 1989

Maid Marian and Her Merry Men was a kids TV show devised by a man with a cunning plan i.e. Tony Robinson of Blackadder fame.

The show ran for 4 series over 26 episodes between 1989 and 1994.

The show has been likened to Blackadder, partly for it’s historical setting and the presence of Tony Robinson (Baldrick), alongside some early, uncredited, script editing work being undertaken by Richard Curtis.

Summary

Aimed at a younger audience.  Maid Marian and Her Merry Men was effectively a musical/comedy retelling of the legend of Robin Hood.

It turns out that the legend of Robin Hood was wrong  Marian was the brains behind the Merry Men.   Alongside her ruthless band of freedom fighters, Marian seeks to save the villagers of Worksop from the tyrany of King John and his cunning henchman, the Sheriff of Nottingham…
