Moody And Pegg

Moody And Pegg, 1974

Moody and Pegg was a Comedy Drama, produced by Thames Television.

It ran for 2 series of 6 episodes each between 1974 and 1975.

Summary

Roland Moody is a newly divorced 42-year-old junk/antique dealer greatly anticipating his new found freedoms from matrimonial ties.

Daphne Pegg is plain spinster and dedicated civil servant in her early thirties who leaves her home in Bolton when she realises that her office boss will never agree to marry her.

Deciding to make a clean break from her past, she heads for London.  As you’d expect things don’t go according to plan, as owing to a rogue estate agent’s dealings, Daphne finds that a man – Moody – also has a valid lease arrangement for the property she’s just acquired.

As neither is able to decide who the squatter is, they agree to be feuding partners and share, forging a very uncomfortable situation, which is only made worse by Moody’s prodigious line of visiting girlfriends.

Eventually, Moody loses in a winner-takes-all poker game and leaves, only to return in the second series.
