Salty, 1974
Last summer we scouted about for cringeworthy Kids TV shows that made it to UK TV screens. For today’s Kids TV spot we’ve scraped the bottom of the barrel. If you’re over 50 you may well remember this and might just chuckle at some of the TV we used to watch, there again you might want to show your kids and let them laugh at you.
Salty was a USA TV series syndicated around the world. In total 20 episodes were made and screened between 1974 and 1975 in the USA.
Salty swam onto UK TV screens in 1977 where it was screened by the BBC, who put it in their after school kids TV schedules.
Summary
The series told the story of two brothers Tim and Taylor Reed who loose their parents during a hurricane that hits the Bahamas and find themselves adopted by their rescuer; Clancy.
The brothers go to live with Clancy in Cove Marina in Nassau, where they help out with the operating of the marina.
Tim who is the younger brother befriends a sea lion (Salty) and together they embark on a series of adventures.
