Going back to 1970 and it’s series three of the popular sitcom, episode one.
It was series three that would end in black and white episodes, due to industrial action that affected all ITV shows recorded around the time.
As kids go back to start a fresh school year this was the nearest sitcom match we could find.
Summary
It’s the start of a new term A new term for the staff and pupils of Fenn Street. This brings even more challenges for Bernard Hedges.
Aside from the day-to-day hazards of teaching 5C, he has to prepare his unruly bunch for their imminent launching on an unsuspecting world. As prospective school leavers, 5C have to consider their future prospects.
On the other side of the coin Bernard is also considering his own future, in the shapely form of Penny Wheeler.
