Cooper’s Half Hour – 1980

With his trademark Fez and tricks that always seem to go wrong Tommy Cooper was one of the most popular and recognisable comedians in the world.  Unfortunately by 1980 drink had got the better of him and Thames Television refused to give him another show.

This 1980 series of 6 episodes “Cooper’s Half Hour” was his last regular series, although he would continue to make guest appearances on other shows.


Everyone’s favourite magician and comedy giant provides magic and laughter for all the family in this his final TV series.

He was joined by his son Thomas Henty in a couple of shows with Irish singing star Danny Doyle regularly supplying a song.


It is not clear on most available clips what show they are from, but generally his shows like many others of the time were a mix of magic, sketches and star guests. these clips are intended to give you an insight into the genius that was Tommy Cooper.
